The Marzocchina is an historycal free cycle that is organized every year in September and sees both the departure and arrival in Piazza Cavour in San Giovanni Valdarno.
This "excursion" takes place in the centres and countryside of Valdarno, offering routes designed for both less experienced cyclists and those more trained.

The trails wind through the heart of Tuscany, crossing villages and enchanted landscapes, with many kilometers of white roads that allow you to relive the history of the valley between Arezzo and Florence.

During the event, all participants can refresh themselves at the refreshments along the route, which also offer the opportunity to taste local dishes accompanied by the fine wine of the Colli Aretini. At the end of the competition, Stufato alla Sangiovannese is the protagonist of the Stufato Party, which takes place in the halls of the Basilica.

Throughout the weekend, the town comes alive with side events dedicated to the world of two wheels: shopping at the Vintage Market, photographic exhibitions and historical memorabilia, guided tours to discover the city museums and corners of Tuscany rich in treasures.

The Marzocchina is a walk in free excursion that takes place on paved roads, bike paths and white roads, offering an immersive experience between sport, culture and nature.
